Fairways

The fairways are primarily Kikuyu grass and while not the ideal grass for the Melbourne climate can be developed into a quality surface.

Due to the nature of the grass the surface needs to be groomed (mown and scarified) to encourage smaller, tighter leaf and top-dressed to produce a quality surface.

The team agreed that more work is required to bring the fairway surfaces up to the desired standards that will present Kooringal as a desired Melbourne golf venue. We need tight, uniform fairway grass which will also provide a contrast with rough areas.
