The Kooringal Golf Club Foundation was created with a view to establishing and growing a permanent fund to be used for the development of Golf and Club specific infrastructure projects.
The Foundation is to be administered by a Board of Trustees that are independent of the Board of Directors of the Golf Club. The Foundation will be used to seek Member and Sponsor contributions in a tax effective manner and to provide comfort to those and other stakeholders that the activities and management of the Foundation are separated from the Clubs other activities.
The Kooringal Golf Club plays an important part in the lives of many members and the wider community and provides them with exercise, relaxation, and friendly social interaction. Whilst the Club will continue its profit growth strategies, with a focus on its current revenue streams, these revenues are sometimes insufficient to fund the long-term strategies of the Club and the Community.
With this realisation, the Foundation will provide a permanent fund, administered independently from the Club administration to help preserve, develop, and maintain the standards and facilities at Kooringal Golf Club.
Our mission with the Foundation is to ensure those who follow us – our children, their friends, and acquaintances – have a secure future at the Club, so that they too can enjoy the game, just as we have.
‘Through the identification of key growth areas and the establishment of sustainable programs, the Foundation aims to provide funding in the continuance of quality and service for the future of Kooringal Golf Club and its members, guests and the community.’

We offer group beginner clinics designed to teach the basics in a supportive, welcoming and fun environment. From there, participants can progress into the Women’s Introductory Program, which includes course access and additional group training sessions. The Directors of the Kooringal Golf Club viewed that for the Foundation to be recognised and accepted by the various stakeholders there should be an independent group of Trustees responsible for the management of the Foundation. Therefore, with the creation of the Kooringal Golf Club Foundation, a Corporate Trustee being Kooringal Foundation Pty Ltd was also established. This Company will be responsible for the trusteeship and management of the Foundation. Under the Trust Deed, the committee of the Club has the ultimate control of the Foundation as the nominated Appointor and also as the sole shareholder of the Trustee Company.
The Foundation and its projects are approved by the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) to enable the Foundation to accept tax-deductible donations.
The Trustees of the Foundation will have the power to disperse the funds of the Foundation according to the purposes of the Trust Deed which include
- To promote and fund the ongoing development and training (in areas pertaining to the game of golf and golf competition) of junior golfers (whether members of the Club or not) and promoting and encouraging junior golf in Victoria generally.
- To enhance the introduction of more people into the game of golf by promoting the game and providing coaching and facilities to assist with this objective
- To promote, support, develop and maintain the objects and the property of the Club and its standards, activities, and facilities, including financing the acquisition of land, buildings facilities, water storages, machinery, equipment, and any other property for the purposes or benefit of the Club; and augmenting and assisting the Club in achieving its capital expenditure program from time to time.
- To promote the study, research, and development by the Club and Club Members and employees in the field of golf course maintenance, supervision, design, and administration
- To promote and finance all activities and fields of endeavour whatsoever between the Club and any Affiliated Club as the Trustees may from time to time deem appropriate.
